DECEMBER 2018 - THIS week's PICTURE

Whitburn Cemetery : photo by Malcolm Aslett

I don't suppose graveyeards are supposed to be cheery. The only thing brightening this up is the soda can someone has considerately left in the hedge.

It covers a hundred and eighty degrees from left to right. To tidy it up I cleaned off the edges with this windscreen-like framing. Don't know if it works.

In the bottom center are some shapes that are perceived as stone to begin with. A comparison with the chapel should tell you that it actually is the chapel, only placed below, confused beneath the hedge leaves.

The brain still tries to make sense of something that doesn't, a repeated image in the wrong place.

I need to go find a cheerier picture for the New Year, I think.
